Guest Blogger Elizabeth Morgan

Good morning and Happy Thursday! Please welcome author Elizabeth Morgan, who's going to answer my infamous Rick Reed questions and talk to us about her new release, On the Rocks. We're just getting settled in my kitchen. I'll fire up the coffee maker, Elizabeth, if you'd like to start.

Hey everyone! I would just like to say a big thank you to Julie for letting me come hang out at her blog today. I’m super happy to be here, and look forward to answering all these awesome questions. J

1)     You’re marooned on a small island with one person and one item of your choice—who is that person and what item do you have?

Justin Hartley! I have the biggest crush on him. He’s just so lovely, and talented, and sexy. As for the other object . . . a shit load of birth control. What? We’re marooned on an island which means no pain killers or any form of medical supplies or help. It makes total sense to be extra careful.

Look, have you seen him? Go Google him and then tell me that you would disagree with my logic.

2)     Which musical would you say best exemplifies your life – and which character in that musical are you?

Honestly, Fame springs to mind. From the age of four I wanted to be actress. I studied and went to musical theatre college and I remember having those moments of “You’ll never amount to anything,” “you suck!” etc. and naturally I met a lot of different type of people who wanted to excel into all the creative areas. There was bitchy-ness and different clicks so you spent a lot of time trying to fit it somewhere. And then along the course of those years you start questioning what you want, and if you’re made out for the goals you have set yourself.

I wouldn’t say that I am one particular character just that I can relate to a few, and how they felt at the beginning of the story; that I get some of the thoughts and worries that occur in the middle, and then finally, having to make that big decision at graduation. I for one decided to go a different direction, and although writing is still creative, and I had to write scripts in college; it wasn’t a path I thought I would take.

3)     Take these three words and give me a 100 word or less scenario using them:  composite, cute,  bloody.

So, I wrote this and now I’m all, “hmm, I think there is an interesting story here.” Copy, paste, and save in my slush folder. :-P

~ * ~
Cute was not a word I would use to describe, Tegan McGrath; nor was handsome.
The angles of his face were sharp, and along with the jagged scar running down his cheek, thick stubble that claimed his jaw, and the tangled length of his dark hair, well, it was easy to see why most men feared him. He was unrestrained. His eyes so unnatural; a composite of hazel and gold which burned with bloody tales, and wicked secrets.

The gaze that had locked on to me the moment he had stepped into the bar.

4)     You’ve just been let loose in the world of fiction, with permission to do anyone you want. Who do you fuck first and why?

Well, I would most likely . . . Wait a minute. If this is the world of fiction then I could be fucking left, right, and center. Every other chapter or page . . . So, possibly every hero in a book I have ever fallen in love with, and damn, that’s a lot of guys, but hey, it’s fiction so I’m allowed to be a slut.

My reason: because I am a female with a large and healthy appetite. ;-P

5)     What is your idea of how to spend romantic time with your significant other?
As boring as it might sound, crashing out on the sofa and watching movies is nice down time. Some laughter, a little making out, which might lead to cute conversations, a little flirting and groping, and . . . well, anything can happen when you're curled up on the sofa.

6)     When you start a new story, do you begin with a character, or a plot?
It depends. Sometimes a character walks in to my imagination and the rest of the time I get shown scenes, which eventually link up into a story. Either way, it all works.

7)     If they were to make the story of your life into a movie, who should play you?
I have no idea. I’ve been told that I look like a couple of actresses, but it is an insult to those women because they are all super gorgeous. So, in the sense of not picking someone who looks similar to me, but going off personality, I would probably pick Anna Faris. I think she is hilarious and that she would be able to play both serious me, and dry humor, bat-shit crazy me, quite well.

    8)  Who’s your favorite horror villain and why?

I’ve always liked Freddy Kruger, but the reason for that is I think he is really cheesy and stupid, and he basically just makes me laugh. Otherwise it would be Hannibal Lecter. Cool, calculated, and so calm, he freaks me out. I mean come on, the dude plays with your mind while all the time he is thinking about eating you. Talk about playing with your food!

9)     Do you have an historical crush and if so, who is it?
Afraid not.

10)Is there a story that you’d like to tell but you think the world isn’t ready to receive it?

Surprisingly there is a story I have planned. I original wrote the story as a script for a production, but plan to turn it into a book. I haven’t got around to writing that book yet, because at the present moment I don’t feel that I’m ready to write it, if that makes sense. I’ve tried once or twice, but had no luck getting in to that world. If I don’t feel a story, or can’t get into it then to me that is something telling me that it isn’t time to tell that story yet. I want to be immersed when I write, and to the point where I have to sit down every day and write because I need to tell it; to finish it.

So, yes there is. But I do hope that when the time comes it will be a story people will like.

Thanks for having me, Julie! And thank you all so much for taking the time to read all my craziness. I would like to leave you with the blurb and a short excerpt from my brand new dark paranormal erotic f/f short story, “On The Rocks.” I hope you enjoy it!

On The Rocks
(The Edge Erotica Series)
BLURB:
On the Rocks is the hottest club on South Padre Island, and Meghan’s new workplace.
If the warped mermaid uniform isn’t enough, the fact that she can’t stop thinking about the club’s singer, Zenzie, is. Everything about the female gets Meghan hot, but when she finally gets her shot with the temptress, it turns out Zenzie isn’t as perfect, or as human, as Meghan thought.

EXCERPT:
Her warm breath skated down my neck causing a shiver to curl around my spine. She straightened then slid her hands through my hair. My eyelids fluttered at the feel of her fingertips stroking over my temples and along my hairline.
“I saw you watching us.”
I stared at her. “Excuse me?”
“Do you like watching?” She retrieved a few items from the vanity table, twisted two sections of my hair, and pushed the hair clips into place. “It’s all right. You can tell me, Meghan.”
My body tightened at the husky way she said my name. The knot between my legs pulsed under her piercing stare. I had no idea how, or even why she managed to get under my skin, but God, I wanted her.
“I’m not a pervert or anything.”
“I know you’re not.” She slid a chain of small red flowers into the black mass of my hair.
“I just heard a noise. I guess my curiosity got the best of me.” I shifted on my seat. “I’m sorry—”
“Don’t be. I liked you watching.”
My nails dug into my knees as her hands moved down my throat. Her skin like satin—her touch, soft. She ran her fingertips over the top of my breasts.
“I would have asked you to join us, if you hadn’t run.” Her gaze caught mine again while she slid her hand inside my skin-tone bra. “Will you run now, or will you do what we both know you want to do?”

BIO:
Elizabeth lives in a small country village in Cheshire, England, with two cats. You will always find her on the computer, blasting music and writing away. She started life wanting to be an actress because she loved performing. She enjoyed nothing more than being able to make people laugh, to distract them from reality for a few hours. She studied Musical Theatre in college, but during her second year, her mind started to overflow with ideas for scripts and she began writing plays. Slowly over the following three years, she was writing more and more, channeling her imagination into more detailed manuscripts...

Here she is, years later, hiding away like a hermit, writing like crazy and loving every minute of it.

  2. Oh, gosh, I completely agree with Justin Hartley. One of the characters from one of my stories is based on him. Smallville was even better with him in it. *grins*

All the best with your new release, Elizabeth! :)
