Thunderball (Sylver & Steele #2) Review

Thunderball (Sylver & Steele #2)
Author: Mimi Riser
Publisher: Amber Quill Press
American release date: February 22, 2010
Format/Genre/Length: E-book/M/M Paranormal Romance/45 pages
Overall Personal Rating: ★★★★★

Sylver Starr is a cross-dressing werewolf. His husband, Hunter Steele, is a 12-lb pussycat. Together, they’re a force to be reckoned with.

Once they get past their own personal disputes, that is.

These two go undercover to infiltrate an animal fighting ring. Sylver is in his white wolf form (passing as an unusual form of Siberian Huskie), and Hunter is his black boot-wearing handler.  The plan is to telepathically tell the object of the fight that they are come to free him.

Things don’t go quite as planned when they realize the Grand Champion isn’t exactly in his right mind and wants to fight Sylver—to the death?

The second book in the Sylver & Steele series is funny, smart, and sexy.  I love these two more with each book. My only complaint is length—the book ends too soon and leaves me wanting more.

If you want a tasty, witty bite, this is for you. There are at least three more books in the series, that will have to do for now.

Review: Your Cheatin' Heart

Your Cheatin’ Heart (Sylver and Steele #1)
Author: Mimi Riser
Publisher: Amber Quill Press
American release date: February 22, 2010
Format/Genre/Length: E-book/M/M Paranormal Romance/49 pages
Overall Personal Rating: ★★★★★

Sylvester Starr—Sylver, for short—is not your typical shifter. In his human form, he is a petite, pretty cross-dressing man. But once he changes, he becomes a force to be reckoned with as a powerful werewolf.

Sylvester is married to none other than Hunter Steele, gorgeous and rich CEO of EG—Earth Guardians. Hunter is sexy as all get out, a real man’s man. But when he shifts, he turns into a deceptively small pussycat. Such an incongruous pair.

In his feline form, Sylver can handle Hunter. But human and naked? He’s putty in Hunter’s capable hands. Which wouldn’t be so bad but Hunter is a tomcat through and through, and the word fidelity is not in his vocabulary.

Sylver has left Hunter, and he’s trying not to think about him, and how badly he wants him. But there are Crocodoids threatening Earth, and Sylver might just need Hunter—in more ways than one.

I’ve been meaning to read this for some time, and have finally gotten around to it. This is a terrific story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, despite its lack of length. It’s only a novella, and quickly read. But what it lacks in length, it makes up for in other ways. I adore the main characters. Sylver is funny, witty, and I love his devotion to the devastatingly sexy Hunter.

Mimi Riser has a most delicious wit and spins a wonderful tale that sucks you in and doesn’t let go. And leaves you wanting more. Luckily I own the next four volumes and can’t wait to read them. Fun, hot, playful and sexy—a not to miss series. I’ll definitely be reading more of Ms. Riser’s books in the future.
