Q. If you could change the ending of a book or series, which book would you choose and why?
Gone with the Wind. Rhett would stay, Scarlett would behave and they'd be happily ever after forever! And because it made me cry so hard, Order of the Phoenix - Sirius would live and he and Remus would marry and live together forever. Damn JK anyway for what she did!
I have read a lot of books that I would change the ending, the middle and the concept but that's not what you asked. I can't think of a lot of books that the ending drove me crazy. I can usually see an unsatisfying ending coming. But, when I read the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, I threw the book across the room and screamed. That wasn't because I hated the ending it was because I could see how Katniss' decision at the end was going to play out. That and the fact that I had to wait for the next book and then the next to get resolution. I wanted it "right now" because it was such a good story.
ReplyDeleteI loved Hunger Games! I still need to read Mockingjay. I started but had to return it and haven't had a chance to get it again. SO hard to find time to read!
ReplyDeleteMockingjay was the perfect conclusion to the story. It made my heart hurt as I read it. I know there have been a lot of complaints about the ending but it made me hug the book to my chest and smile. Suzanne Collins sure has a way with words!
ReplyDeleteShe does, and thanks for not spoiling! I've learned that complaining doesn't change an ending anyway lol
ReplyDeleteIt would be great if Gone With the Wind could have a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I don't dislike all classics, just particularly Lord of the Flies:)
