Don't Look Back #27 (5.6)

The swat was repeated, and immediately after, Marshall felt the ice being pressed against the spot. The contrast between the warmth and the cold sent tingles shooting through him. Damn, it hurt so good. And he found the darkness wasn’t quite as terrifying as he would have thought. He knew Lee was right there, and always would be. Nothing bad could happen to him as long as they were together. The knowledge was comfortable, and he felt more secure for it.

He felt Lee’s weight shift on the bed, heard what he thought was the clink of ice, and then he felt a fresh coldness on his balls. “Damn!” he inadvertently exclaimed, more surprised than anything.

“Too much? Want me to quit?” Lee’s soft voice encompassed him. Marshall shook his head.

“No, Sir!” he stubbornly replied. “Keep it coming.” He couldn’t see Lee’s smile, but he just knew he looked pleased. That was a big disadvantage of the blindfold—not being able to see Lee’s face, watch his enjoyment. For right now, memories would have to do. He had plenty of those, spanning the last two years.

Marshall felt his balls shrivel at the coldness, and his cock wasn’t quite as lively as before, either. But when a sudden warmth engulfed his cold nuts, the contrast was delicious. Lee rolled Marshall’s sac in his mouth, tonguing him. Marshall arched his back as Lee’s hand wrapped around his dick and began to pump, resurrecting his cock.

Oh yes, so good, so wonderful.

Without visual stimulation to distract him, Marshall felt everything more vividly, every sensation magnified, his whole being focused on the intense pleasure Lee provided.  When they got home, he wanted to reverse their roles, to give Lee the same magical feelings.

Under Lee’s ministrations, Marshall’s cock was fully hard again and aching for release. A release he knew he could not have as long as he wore the cock ring. But he couldn’t exactly ask to have it removed, either. That decision was up to Lee, awaiting his pleasure and his agenda. That was all part of the way they lived. Marshall put himself into Lee’s hands and accepted that Lee dominated him.

Lee was his strength and his protector, but not his master. Through Lee’s love, Marshall found a strength in himself to be the best man he could be. He chose to obey Lee’s rules; there was never a question of force between them. And when push came to shove, he knew they were equals. Lovers. Partners in life forever.

Marshall couldn’t imagine a better life.

Suddenly the warmth and wetness that surrounded his balls was gone, and so was the hand pumping his cock. The bed creaked as Lee moved off. Marshall felt a momentary panic, but tamped it down. He felt Lee’s hand stroke his arm gently, reassuringly. Then he heard the sound of a latch. Sounded like their suitcase. They’d shared one, since they were only going to be gone for a couple of days and didn’t need all that much. What could Lee possibly want from it now?

Marshall sniffed. The fragrance of citrus filled his nostrils. Smelled just like the orange lube they sometimes used.  Marshall wondered if Lee was greasing his fingers… or maybe his cock? The second idea gained credence when Lee spread Marshall’s legs a little wider. Better access, no doubt.

He felt a pressure nudge against his hole. But he realized immediately it wasn’t the warmth of Lee’s flesh. This was a little harder, almost like soft plastic, even if the shape was the same… Ah, Marshall knew now. Sneaky Lee had packed one of their toys, and was going to fuck him with it. Marshall shivered in anticipation.

Lee slowly eased the dildo inside of Marshall, allowing his muscles to relax. The first time Lee had suggested using an artificial phallus, Marshall had wondered what was the purpose, since God had given Lee a rather magnificent cock of his own, so why use anything else? Wasn’t that for horny single women and desperate gay men?

Marshall quickly learned why, and he was suitably impressed the first time he felt the vibrations in his channel. Okay, maybe that was something Lee couldn’t do. He promised to keep a more open mind to new ideas in the future.

Lee moved the dildo in and out at an even pace. Marshall refrained from begging for more, sure that wouldn’t get him further than patience. Sure enough, he felt the vibrator come to life, and he cried aloud from the sheer pleasure of it.

“Like that, do you boy?”

“Oh yes, yes, yes.” Marshall bowed his back again, straining at the cuffs that restricted his hands. His torment was made worse when Lee palmed his cock once more, ratcheting the level of his desire even higher. He wanted to touch Lee, so badly he ached. Wanted to be able to come. If not for the cock ring, he was pretty sure he would’ve blown by now.

And he wanted to look at Lee. Stare into his beautiful eyes when he came.

God, he loved that dildo, and the way Lee used it in his ass, the euphoria that sped along every nerve ending he possessed until he thought he might pass out from pleasure. A whimper escaped his lips, despite his best efforts.

“Too much?” Lee asked.

“Want you,” Marshall admitted. “Please, Sir.”

The vibrator was good, but Lee was better.

He felt the dildo’s removal first, followed by cock ring, and then the release of his hands from the cuffs. Lee rubbed at each wrist gently. Then he removed the sleep mask. Marshall blinked as his eyes adjusted. He looked up, into Lee’s loving eyes, as Lee pushed inside of him, his hands going to Lee’s perfect ass.

Their climaxes were long and hard and good. Afterward, Marshall curled against Lee, breathing him in, Lee’s arms around him. What a great way to spend their last night in San Antonio.

 to be continued

Now ring in the New Year with the other Wednesday Briefers!

Sudetenland
by George T. Chronis

BLURB:

Sudetenland© is the premiere novel by author George T. Chronis. The book delivers suspenseful and sweeping historical fiction set against Central European intrigue during the late 1930s leading up to 1938′s Munich Conference. The characters are the smart and sometimes wise-cracking men and women of this era – the foreign correspondents, intelligence officers, diplomats and career military – who are on the front lines of that decade’s most dangerous political crisis. With three million ethnic Germans in Bohemia at stake, Adolph Hitler’s unshakeable will demands that the Sudetenland be ripped from Czechoslovakia and joined with Germany. The novel takes readers behind the scenes into the deliberations and high drama taking place within the major capitals of Europe as the continent hurtles toward the crucible of a shooting war.

EXCERPT:

"The Germans are very keen to have news of the conference broadcast live across the world. They are very confident of the outcome. Godesberg is a great victory for them," Shirer felt a tad uncomfortable at helping them promote their success.

"Yeah, that's what I have been reading in the local rags," Endicott found the towing of the government's pitch lines to be remarkably uniform.

"Don't be too hard on us, my friend," an overly cheery German broke into the conversation to sit down at the table without waiting for an invitation. "Godesberg is one of those rare occasions where everything we print is actually true."

Shirer laughed and slapped the tabletop. "Eavesdropping again, Manfred?"

"Of course! And so do you. I am just better at snooping than you are," the German boasted, although he ranked Shirer's attention to detail as amazingly high.

"Charles," Shirer turned to Endicott. "Meet Herr Culemann, one of Germany's leading editors."
"Pleased to meet you. Charles Endicott, Hearst International News Service," Endicott reached over the table to offer his hand.

"I just read your story. Great work there: Kidnapped By the Sudeten Freikorps. I am glad you survived unscathed. Many of their number are severely undisciplined," Culemann was sincerely pleased no harm had come to the American.

"Thanks on both counts. Sometimes I get lucky," Endicott hoped the roll lasted for a while longer. "Say, you look like a man in the know. When does Herr Hitler arrive?"

"Oh, the chancellor is already in Godesberg... upstairs as we speak," Culemann informed them.
"Now you're talking," Endicott perked up. "When do you think we will get a chance to see him?"
"Any time really. One never knows. He could stroll through the lobby in five minutes on the way to his river yacht. The vessel is tied up at the water's edge," Culemann located the vessel through the window and showed them.

"Somehow I expected something more formal," Endicott sounded let down.

"Do not despair, the Teppichfresser will not disappoint," Culemann lowered his voice as he teased the Americans.

"The what?" Endicott did not understand the term.

"Carpet eater?" Shirer's translation did little to ease his own confusion.

"You two have obviously not been paying attention to the discussion at the next table," Culemann nodded in the direction of two party hacks nearby.

"I imagine not," Shirer had been ignoring their boorish neighbors on purpose.

"Perhaps you have heard... the chancellor often has strong reactions to bad news," Culemann continued in a whisper. "Chamberlain promised him that he could deliver the Sudetenland on a platter and all of the news from Prague says Beneš is obstinately refusing to go along. Those two over there were just mentioning how this continued stubbornness by the Czech president has brought on one of Hitler's rages causing the leader of the great German Empire to fling himself on the floor where he chews on the edge of the carpet."

"You have to be kidding," Endicott found such a tale difficult to believe.

"Trust me, on such matters, I never kid," Culemann wagged his forefinger at the Americans.

Tease Me Thursday #41: A Marshall and Lee Christmas: Part II

Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope that everyone is happy and healthy and safe! Not only is it Christmas day, but it's Tease Me Thursday. I'm doing something a little different, and perhaps technically, it's not playing by the rules, but hey, it's Christmas! I began my story yesterday, on my Wednesday Briefs flash. Yesterday was the first part of A Marshall and Lee Christmas, today is part II. I hope you enjoy it, and Merry Christmas to you!

A Marshall and Lee Christmas: Part II

“You going to stare at that all day, or you think maybe you could put it on top of the tree?”

Marshall had been so absorbed in his memories he hadn’t heard Lee come in. He wore a shit-eating grin on his face. Marshall couldn’t help but grin back.

“Thought I would,” he countered. “You all done with Roy? What’s wrong with his car?”

“He thought his alternator might be going out, but I think it was just a dead battery. We jumped it and it started pretty quick. If it doesn’t hold the charge, I told him I’d drive him up to get a new one.”

“Sounds like a plan.” Marshall carefully carried the angel to the tree and set her on top. He could remember a time when he needed help to do that. What a difference a few years made.

“So, what was all that about?” Lee questioned.

“What? Oh, nothing much.” Marshall turned to face him. “Just thinkin’ ‘bout how we got her and everything.”

“Everything?”

“Well, you know. Just stuff.” Marshall shrugged.

Lee stepped closer, and circled Marshall’s waist. “We had some really good times back then,” he said softly. “Just you and me.”

“Just you and me,” Marshall repeated. He had few memories of his mother being a part of the family. In fact, most of his memories of her were unpleasant ones. Although Lee never said much about her, Marshall got the impression from what little he let slip and things she’d said that she’d never wanted to have him, and didn’t want to be around him, so she’d ended up leaving them both. When he was younger, he’d worried about her absence, wondering if it was his fault. But when he voiced his concern, Lee had been quick to assure him that it was all on her, and that Marshall had done nothing wrong.

“I hope you know I wouldn’t change a single thing,” Lee said, and Marshall understood exactly what he meant, and he wholeheartedly agreed. Neither would he.

They leaned together, their lips meeting softly. Marshall wound his arms around Lee’s neck, and no more words were necessary.

They wound the strands of blue and white lights around the tree then plugged them in to make sure none of the bulbs had gone bad since last year. There were a few that didn’t glow. Lee flicked life into two of them, and replaced one bulb that couldn’t be coaxed into shining. Then they hung the ornaments—gold and green and blue balls, along with more personal decorations. Every year, they chose something new that symbolized their lives, and another year of being together. This year they’d found a naughty Santa Claus placing a pair of handcuffs beneath someone’s tree. They’d found that one online, at an adult site.

Lee had promised they’d make good use of the real things on Christmas day.

The tinsel was the last thing to go on. They draped the silver-blue icicles over the branches, careful not to put too many in one spot, scattering them in delicate array about the tree. Then they stopped back and admired their handiwork. The tinsel shimmered iridescently in the glow from the lights.
“Beautiful,” Lee declared, and Marshall echoed his sentiment.

“Roy’s coming tonight, isn’t he?” Marshall asked, although he had no doubt of the answer to his question.

“He is. I told him we’d pick him up on our way.”

On Christmas Eve, Milly’s diner was the place to be. Those residents who didn’t go out of town for the holidays met there for dinner. It was a very festive occasion. Good food, good company, and a reminder of what the holidays were all about. A commitment to one another, and an affirmation of the strong bond of friendship shared by the people of Burnham. This was something that was hard to find in big cities where people oftentimes didn’t even speak to their neighbors, or know their names or their lives, much less celebrate occasions with them. Marshall wouldn’t trade life in this small town for a fancier life anywhere else.

“That mean he’s not bringing a date?” Marshall arched his eyebrows inquisitively.

“Yup, that’s what that means. ‘Sides, he’s going to be on duty after dinner, just in case some ruckus starts.”

“Yeah, that’s true.” On Christmas Eve, anything could happen, although New Year’s Eve was worse, with more people out there getting likkered up. Roy didn’t stand for that sort of nonsense in
Burnham, and out-of-towners quickly learned to avoid the place. But still, there was an occasional fool who apparently didn’t get the memo. After one run-in with Roy, they learned.

“Go stand by the tree a minute,” Marshall instructed Lee, who rolled his eyes and pretended to frown.

“What for?” he asked in a gruff voice.

“Just do it.” Marshall laughed as he hurried into their bedroom, returning moments later with a camera in his hand. He powered it on, checked to make sure the lighting was right, and urged, “Smile pretty now.”

Lee shook his head but he flashed Marshall one of his brilliant smiles, and Marshall got the shot. Then they exchanged places and Lee took one of Marshall. Finally, they posed together, and Marshall held the camera out at arm’s length and photographed the two of them.

“That enough for now, Mr. Photographer?” Lee teased.

“It’ll do for now,” Marshall conceded. “You know, we could really use a new printer.”

“You keep telling me that, but I’m still not sure I understand why we need one. Especially that fancy color one you make a point of showing me in the catalog.”

Marshall had had his eye on a photo-quality printer for a while now, but hadn’t been able to get Lee to budge on buying it. Yet. He hadn’t given up, even if Lee showed no sign of relenting, claiming it was an unjustifiable expense and the business didn’t need it.

“For many reasons,” Marshall waffled. Although his primary reason was in order to take photos of Lee on his phone and print them out, for his own personal consumption. For what he had in mind, taking them somewhere to be developed was simply not an option.

“That’s nice and vague.” Lee laughed.

“I was thinking of making up some brochures and sending them out. And putting color ads in some magazines, to draw in business.”

“Uh-huh.”

“And this is the best time of year to get one. Most places have sales going on, and it would make a great write-off on the tax return.”

“Is that so? Looks like you have all the answers, don’t you?”

“Does that mean yes?” Marshall asked hopefully.

“That means maybe, boy.” He glanced at his watch. “Looks like we have a little time to kill before we need to pick up Roy. Anything you want to do?”

“You,” Marshall replied bluntly.

“Me?” Lee stepped closer to Marshall, his eyes raking over Marshall’s body. A flash of fire burst through Marshall, the stirring of desire. It didn’t take much when Lee was around. Seemed like Marshall’s libido was always on call when it came to Lee. “I think you have that backward. I think you want me to do you, am I right?”

“Always, “Marshall agreed.

“Where and when?”

“How about here and now?” Marshall closed the gap between them, and pressed his growing bulge against Lee. If that didn’t show how much he wanted Lee, nothing would…

“Underneath the tree, you mean? Aren’t you afraid of getting pine needles in your ass?”

“Not if I’m on my hands and knees, I won’t.”

“Oh damn. “ Lee breathed out hoarsely, and Marshall could tell he’d more than whetted his interest. Well, that and the answering bulge in Lee’s trousers as he rubbed against it.

“See, I was thinking,” Marshall continued, “if we start now, we’ll still have time for a Christmas Eve fuck after dinner, after we spend a little time at the diner. How does that sound?” He reached between them and palmed Lee’s cock with confidence. He had little doubt what Lee’s answer would be. He could read it in his eyes.

“I like the way you think.” Lee thrust against Marshall’s hand, pulling him in for a long, hard kiss, the kind that stole Marshall’s breath away. By the time Lee released him, they were both breathing heavily.

“I like the way you feel,” Marshall countered, “especially when you’re inside of me.”

“I’ll get the lube, you just get ready.” Lee kissed him again, for good measure, practically devouring Marshall’s lips before he stepped back and put some space between them. “Don’t dawdle was his last comment before heading toward the bedroom.

Damn, the things that man could do to him. Marshall shivered in delicious anticipation, losing himself in the moment before he realized he needed to get a move on, or Lee would find him still fully dressed and that would not do at all.

He quickly stripped and threw his clothes onto the couch, careful to set his shoes where Lee wouldn’t stumble on them. Then he dropped to his knees beside the tree—there really wasn’t room beneath it, despite what Lee’d said—and waited.

He didn’t have long to wait. He felt Lee’s presence behind him, felt him drop to the carpet behind Marshall  and press his bare flesh against him.

Oh yes, that’s what he was talking about.

He could tell Lee was on his knees just by the way his hard cock pressed against Marshall’s ass. Marshall pushed back against him, as if he could suck Lee’s cock in that way. His own cock ached, leaking precome beneath him.

“Goddamn, you’re so horny,” Lee practically moaned. Marshall thrilled at the sound of desire in Lee’s voice, knowing it was because of him.

“Are you complaining, old man?” he taunted him. The next moment, Lee swatted his ass and he reveled in the burn.

“Hell no, and who you calling old?”

“’Fraid you can’t keep up with me?” Marshall continued, grinding back against Lee’s cock. Lee gripped Marshall’s hips and met him thrust for thrust.

“You wish, boy. Anytime, anywhere.”

That’s what he wanted to hear. He ached for Lee, needed to be filled by him… the sooner, the better.
Lee reached beneath Marshall and took his cock into his hand, producing a heartfelt moan from Marshall. “I can hold out all night, boy, what about you?”

“I can hold out just as long as you can,” Marshall insisted, but he knew that wasn’t true, knew if he didn’t feel Lee inside of him soon, he’d start to beg. What a pretty picture that wouldn’t be. But he was starting not to care.

Lee pumped his cock in slow, easy strokes, grinding against Marshall. “Feel good? Good enough? Or do you want more? Tell me what you want, boy. What you need.”

Marshall tried to hold it in, but he was fighting a losing battle against his libido, which demanded immediate gratification, in the form of Lee’s cock. A small whimper rose in his throat, and he tried to hold it in, but somehow it was released.

So what, who cares. The first whimper was quickly followed by a second, and he rubbed harder against Lee.

“I want you,” he got out at last, having gained a modicum of control over his voice so that it didn’t squeak, at least. “I want you inside of me. Please.”

Okay, he was begging, his pride was gone, and all that was left was pure need. That worked too.
Lee released his hips and leaned back, away from Marshall. Marshall heard him pop the top on the lube, then he felt Lee’s lubed fingers slide into his hole. That was a start, although he still wanted more.

“Three fingers,” he begged, and was gratified to feel Lee add another finger, scissoring them inside of Marshall as he stretched his muscles, preparing him. Marshall wasn’t in the mood for extensive foreplay, though, he was ready for the main event. Now.

“Quit teasing me and fuck me already,” he moaned, his hand going to his weeping cock, despite knowing he probably shouldn’t.  Sure enough, Lee swatted the errant hand away.

“Not on your life,” he said, “that’s mine, and I say when…”

Marshall relinquished his hold on his dick and Lee pulled his fingers out of Marshall’s ass.
Oh yes, show time, folks…

Before he had time to mourn the loss of Lee’s digits, Lee had slid his entire length inside Marshall, and Marshall cried out, engulfed by a wave of pure ecstasy.  Lee pulled out and plunged back in, never giving Marshall time to think, simply feel. Marshall rode the waves that surged through his body, his toes curling into the carpet, his fingers threatening to follow suit. He felt about ready to explode, and that without being touched.

As if reading his mind, Lee leaned over Marshall’s back, his hand claiming Marshall’s cock. He began to pump him in quick short strokes, and Marshall realized he wasn’t going to last long.
“Fuck me harder,” he cried, wanting Lee to ramp it up. Lee didn’t pull out as far now, taking shorter and harder thrusts. Marshall grunted in satisfaction, even as he felt his balls tighten, and he couldn’t stop what was coming, even if he wanted to.

“Come on, I can feel you’re ready. Come for me,” Lee urged, their flesh slapping wetly as he drilled into Marshall.  He kissed Marshall’s back, a slight hint of stubble rasping against Marshall’s skin.
Marshall’s whimpers turned into moans as his orgasm reached its height, bursting from his cock in long sticky strings that hit his belly, and covered Lee’s hand. He cried Lee’s name, over and over, like a mantra as Lee milked him with his hand until he had no more to give. He felt Lee’s muscles tighten, and he knew he was ready, then he felt him spill his seed inside of Marshall, even as he continued to thrust.

Finally, Lee slumped over Marshall’s back, his movements having ceased, his hand still grasping Marshall’s softening cock.  Marshall didn’t want to move, wanted them to stay joined like this as long as possible.

Unfortunately, he didn’t think his knees agreed, and he began to seriously doubt whether they’d last much longer.  Before he could voice his fears, Lee had moved back, and he pulled Marshall up with him, wrapping his arms about him as he did. Marshall relaxed back into Lee’s strength for a moment, before Lee brought them both to their feet.

“I think we have time for a shower before we need to get dressed,” Lee drawled. “Then we can put the presents under the tree before we go.”

They never put out the gifts they got each other before Christmas eve, not until the tree was in place and fully decorated. That was their tradition and they were sticking to it. They would each open one gift on Christmas Eve, but the rest waited until morning.

They took a quick shower… well, quick for them, considering the touching and fondling that went on beneath the hot water… then returned to the bedroom and dressed. Marshall brought out the presents he’d hidden for Lee, and placed them beneath the tree. Lee did the same.

“Oh wait,” he said, snapping his fingers. “There’s one more I didn’t get a chance to wrap. Want to get it out for me?”

Marshall gave him a curious look. Since when did Lee not have time to wrap any of his gifts? That didn’t sound like him. So what was going on?

“It’s in the bottom of my closet. Why don’t you go and get it. If you think you can.”

Well, wasn’t that a challenge. Marshall snorted. He could carry anything Lee could, just watch him. He was still wondering why it wasn’t wrapped though. When he returned, his eyes were round, and his mouth had dropped into a perfect o of amazement. In his arms was a large box, inside of which was the very printer he’d been wanting. The one he’d been begging for. Right here. And it was his. Lee must have been planning this for some time. He’d been teasing Marshall, letting him think it wasn’t going to happen, when all the time he knew it was.

“Merry Christmas,” Lee whispered. Marshall set the printer carefully onto the floor, then hurled himself into Lee’s arms.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” he murmured into Lee’s mouth as he kissed him. “I love you so much, Lee. So very much. I hope you know that.”

“I know that, and you know I love you with everything I have and all I am,” Lee replied. “And…”

“And?”

“And don’t think I don’t know what you intend to use that thing for, and it’s not just for brochures.”

Lee gave him a knowing look, and Marshall almost giggled, catching himself in time.

“Does that mean you’ll pose for me?” he cheekily asked.

“That means turnabout is fair play, boy, just remember that.”

Hot damn, were they gonna have fun with Marshall’s new toy!

A Marshall and Lee Christmas: Part I

Christmas in Texas wasn’t white. And it wasn’t all that cold. But it was sure as hell better than being in Fargo, freezing his ass off. Most important, Christmas in Texas was with Lee, and that made all the difference in the world to Marshall.

Christmas in Texas was warmth and love, and being loved by Lee. And it was filled with traditions begun when Marshall and Lee began their new life together in Burnham. Beginning with the cutting down of the Christmas tree.

This year’s tree, a six foot Virginia pine, stood in a corner of the living room, waiting to be decorated. They’d brought it home the night before, cut it themselves at a Christmas tree farm that was less than an hour away. The same place they went every year since Marshall had joined Lee in Burnham.

Marshall set the box of decorations beside the others on the couch. Lights and tinsel and ornaments. Everything they’d accumulated over the years. Strings of blue lights framed the windows and eaves outside, but today was all about the indoor decorating. This was something they always did together, but Lee had gone out a little while ago to help Roy, who was having car trouble. He’d be back soon. In the meantime, Marshall would get everything ready, and make sure the strands of lights weren’t tangled.

He removed the lid of one of the boxes. Inside a beautiful angel nestled, resplendent in a flowing gold dress, and delicate gold-trimmed wings. Marshall carefully lifted her from her bed of tissue paper, and smoothed down her dress, his mind going back to the first time he’d ever seen her…

Marshall was eight years old and beyond excited. As soon as he and his dad got up, they’d gone straight to the Christmas calendar and tore off the last page. That meant Christmas was tomorrow, and Marshall was more than ready to see what Santa Claus would bring. Of course, there were still things to do. Everything had to be in readiness for this night of nights. Christmas only came once a year, and there were no second chances.

“Can I make the cookies this year, Dad?” Breakfast was over, his teeth were brushed, and Marshall had gotten dressed in a pair of shorts and a T-shirt.  Homemade cookies were an essential part of the holiday tradition. Nothing was too good for Santa; store-bought just wouldn’t do.  For the past few years, he’d helped his dad make the cookies, but Marshall was confident he could handle it this year himself.

His father carefully considered the question. “We’ll see,” he said at last. “Gotta get the tree decorated first, okay?”

“Okay!” Marshall readily agreed.

“Want to get the boxes out?”

Marshall’s eyes widened. That was something he’d never gotten to do before. It meant a lot to him that his father thought he was ready to handle that job now. “Oh yes, I do.” Marshall nodded solemnly. His father gave him a smile and a thumbs up from the couch where he sat.

“Go for it,” he said.

They kept the Christmas decorations in their own place in the hall closet, near the back. Marshall almost skipped to the closet, his heart beating wildly. Carefully, he moved the pile of towels that sat in front. They’d already been to the Christmas tree lot and his dad let him pick out the prettiest tree he saw. It was just waiting to be decorated.

Marshall pulled out one of the boxes and opened it. This one contained the lights. A small box contained some of the ornaments, and tinsel lay in a third. There should have been two more boxes, though, with more ornaments, and the angel who sat on top of the tree. But he couldn’t see them.

Frantic, he moved the contents of the closet around, afraid he’d missed them somehow. But he couldn’t see them, and his previous good mood evaporated as panic set in. It was his fault, he just knew it, even if he didn’t know how or why.

He took the boxes he could find and carried them back to the living room. His dad looked up from his morning paper. “Find everything okay?”

Marshall didn’t know what to say, so he stayed silent. His father gave him a piercing look. “Something wrong, Marshall?”

Marshall felt tears gathering in his eyes. “I’m sorry,” he whispered faintly, his voice refusing to work. “I… I couldn’t find everything.”

His dad rose swiftly and took the boxes from him. Marshall watched while he set them down and looked through them, a frown creasing his forehead. Marshall just knew he was mad at him, and the knowledge hurt. He could hear his dad swearing under his breath. Marshall began to tremble.

His dad looked up and instantly the frown line disappeared, as he pulled Marshall into his arms. “What’s all this about?” he asked in surprise. Marshall burrowed his face against his father’s chest and sobbed.

“I must have lost them,” he sobbed in a stricken voice. “I’m sorry, Dad.”

“Ssh, ssh.” His dad held him close, stroking Marshall’s hair and soothing him. “It’s not your fault, not at all. You didn’t do anything. She did.”

She who? Marshall turned a surprised face up to his father, who wiped tears from Marshall’s cheeks.

“Your mother must have paid us a surprise visit. I’ll have to see what else is missing, won’t I?”

Marshall wasn’t sure what his dad meant, but he didn’t care. All he knew was that he wasn’t in trouble, and his dad wasn’t mad.

Once Marshall was calm enough, they went to the store, through the new-fallen snow, and his father let Marshall pick out a new angel. He even let Marshall place her on top of the tree himself.  And then his dad let him make Santa’s cookies.

That was their last Christmas before his mother snatched him away, the last one for five long years.

Tease Me Thursday #40: Don't Look Back

One week before Christmas, and time for a little bit of a tease! Almost Friday, almost the weekend. So let me show you 7! Seven words, seven sentences, or seven paragraphs!

Today I give you a snippet from my ongoing flash, Don't Look Back, about two men whose relationship is considered taboo, but their love is unmistakable!

In this scene, Marshall and Lee are in San Antonio on a business/pleasure trip. It's their last night, and they're going to have a little fun!

Marshall felt his nipple harden from the ice. Damn, that was cold, but he didn’t dare complain. The next moment he didn’t mind so much as Lee engulfed the cold nipple in his warm mouth, and the sudden change in temperate was simply exquisite.

Marshall couldn’t help himself. He moaned in delight.

“Like that, do you, boy?” Lee murmured, even as he applied the ice cube to Marshall’s other nipple.

“Mmhmmm,” was Marshall’s only coherent thought. If this was to be his punishment, then bring it on, baby, bring it on.

Virtual Book Tour: Trouble Comes in Threes

Please welcome my good friend and fellow author M.A. Church, here to talk about her new book, Trouble Comes in Threes. If you like kitties, you'll love this one! But first she's going to discuss the pros and cons of writing a menage!

A post on the pros and cons of writing ménage
For Julie Lynn Hayes’ blog

One thing I’ve heard from folks who don’t care for ménage stories is that the ‘third’ always feels like a third wheel. And I can see that. I’ve read stories where I got that feeling too.
But on the other hand, I have friends who are in polyamorous relationships. One thing I want to clear up is the misconception that a polyamorous relationship is no different from an open-relationship agreement: one committed couple, with some lighthearted fun on the side. But the word “polyamory,” by definition, means loving more than one.
That’s what Trouble Comes in Threes is: Three men loving one another.

One of the things I really focused on in Trouble, outside of the whole shifter aspect, was the ‘why’ of their relationship. Dolf and Tal were already a couple, and here I was throwing a third at this happy and established relationship.
What was I thinking???

Believe me, they asked the same thing too. But as I wrote the story, guess what? I found they weren’t as settled as I first thought. I don’t want to give out spoilers, but each man had certain needs not being met. Were those needs enough to wreck the relationship?
I had no idea.
And that’s the point of Kirk, and the concept of Trouble. Kirk brought balance to an established relationship. He wasn’t just an add-on; he was the missing part. In this case, the whole wasn’t made up of two parts. It was made up of three, lol.
Combining two lives can be hard. Any newly married couple can tell you that, lol! Combining three lives, I imagine, can be a special kind of insanity. *snicker* Kirk, Tal, and Dolf face that in the book. Taking a couple who has lived together for thirty years and then having Kirk join them, a man who is used to living alone… yeah, you have growing pains, lol. Part of this story is their coming together as a unit.
My three men were determined to make this work, though. They are mates, and isn’t that what most people do in a relationship? They work at it. There are bumps in the road they deal with as they learn about each other, sure. Questions arise, and they each learn new things about themselves as they tightened the bond between them.
*snicker* Then you have the shifter aspect. That’s a whole another can of worms, lol! The trouble they face isn’t that they’re in a polyamorous relationship. It’s rare, but not unheard of. No, lol, the problem comes from the fact Kirk is human. Not all shifters agree human mates are the gift they are supposed to be. One, in fact, is ready to kill over it.

Book Name: Trouble Comes in Threes
Author Name: M.A. Church
Author Bio:
M.A. Church is a true Southern belle who spent many years in the elementary education sector. Now she spends her days lost in fantasy worlds, arguing with hardheaded aliens on far-off planets, herding her numerous shifters, or trying to tempt her country boys away from their fishing poles. It’s a full time job, but hey, someone’s gotta do it!
When not writing, she’s exploring the latest M/M novel to hit the market, watching her beloved Steelers, or sitting glued to HGTV. That’s if she’s not on the back porch tending to the demanding wildlife around the pond in the backyard. The ducks are very outspoken. She’s married to her high school sweetheart, and they have two children.
She was a finalist in the Rainbow awards for 2013.

A snowstorm in the South—on New Year’s Eve—is a perfect recipe for a catastrophe. After two soul-crushing bad breaks, Kirk’s waiting for disaster number three to strike when naturally, two stray cats arrive on his doorstep during the storm and decide to make themselves at home. Tenderhearted Kirk lets them stay even though there’s something decidedly odd about his overly friendly felines.

Out of the punishing weather, and full of tuna, Dolf and Tal are happy to be snug in Kirk’s house. But then their human goes outside for firewood and suffers a nasty fall that leaves him unconscious. Now the two cats have no choice but to reveal themselves.

Kirk wakes up to find the two kitties are actually Dolf and Tal. They’re cat shifters—and his destined mates. Being part of a feline threesome is enough for Kirk to grapple with, but soon he learns they come from a clowder that doesn’t believe humans and shifters should mix. Kirk knew those two cats would be trouble. Little does he know the real trouble lies ahead.

Excerpt:
Dolf picked out the saw he wanted, then followed Tal to another aisle. His mate pointed out the different kinds, but Tal’s words had rapidly faded into a meaningless buzz. There, on the air currents in the store, was the sweetest scent. It was light and flowery, reminding him of honeysuckle. He breathed deeply, taking the scent into himself. His cock hardened immediately and his head spun. A yowl threatened to escape.
That scent… that scent was seductive and alluring. It spoke to him, whispering things that made him need. His cat paced frantically in his mind, tail slashing madly. The need to pounce, to sink his canines in and drink that sweet, life-giving blood of his…. His gums tingled and saliva flooded his mouth.
He swallowed, then swallowed again as his head pounded, his heart rate spiking as one thought screamed through his mind: Mate! Another mate! Where was that scent coming from? Or who? And by the goddess, why? He already had a mate. What was their goddess thinking, giving him another? But he couldn’t ignore the reaction. It had been the same when he met Tal.
