You’re marooned on a small island with one
person and one item of your choice—who is that person and what item do you
have?
The genie from Aladdin, with his bottle. I’d rub the bottle
and wish to be off the island…or at least wish to be allowed more than one
person and one item. (Cop out answer, I
know. It’s all I’ve got. <G>)
2)
Which musical would you say best exemplifies your
life – and which character in that musical are you?
Hmmm….I don’t know. Maybe “Goodbye Girl”? I’d be Paula. Slow
to trust, trying to bring up a daughter alone the best way she can, competing
with younger people in her chosen field of work. Yeah, that’ll work.
3)
Take these three words and give me a 100 word or
less scene using them: saint, shoelace,
smile
It was my last day on the job, and
my ‘saint’ act had to go. Arch nemesis coworker was going down. I crawled under
his desk, undetected, and tied his shoelaces together, and was across the room
before the beginning of the fire drill I had known was coming. When he stood up
suddenly, he fell on his face. I all but literally rolled on the floor
laughing.
The alarm clock ended the dream and ruined my fun. But it
least it really was my last day and now, thanks to some nocturnal imagination,
I could face him with a smile on my face.
(That’s 104 but that’s as close as I can get. Maximums
always give me more trouble than minimums)

You’ve just been let loose in the world of
fiction, with permission to do anyone you want. Who do you fuck first and why?
Dean Winchester from Supernatural.
Because, really, Jensen Ackles.

What is your idea of how to spend romantic time
with your significant other?
Spooned up together in front of the fire watching a romantic
movie.

When you start a new story, do you begin with a
character, or a plot?
Whichever comes to me first, but usually
the character. I’ll get a strong sense
of the character whose POV the story will be through. Then the plot follows
closely behind that. The stories where the plot comes first seem to be the ones
where the POV changes, like Living Again,
which alternated between Jonah’s POV and Daniel’s, and For Mac, which switches between Branson, Liam, Amy, and Andy in
subheadings at various points (Mostly Branson and Liam, though).

If they were to make the story of your life into
a movie, who should play you?
Meryl Streep or Glenn Close. I admire both of those ladies a
lot. They have the same general description of my physical characteristics
(though they are a lot prettier <G>) and they are such versatile
actresses they could easily handle everything my life has thrown at me.

Who’s your favorite horror villain and why?
I don’t get into horror that much but if I had to choose a
favorite villain, it would have to be Freddy Krueger. Something about being
able to manipulate the dream world really intrigues me.

Do you have an historical crush and if so, who
is it?
I don’t know about crush, but there’s a whole list of
historical figures I’d love to meet. John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King,
Abraham Lincoln, even folks like Alexander the Great and Charlemagne. People
who impacted history in some way.

Is there a story that you’d like to tell but you
think the world isn’t ready to receive it?
I don’t know that the world isn’t ready to receive anything
I want to tell. I know I have to constantly tone down characters, and even then
worry about them coming on too strong. I live in a small town in the bible belt
and many people around here are unbelievably prejudiced. Literally. As in, when
I write a character based on people I know in real life, they come across too
prejudiced. Not all the people here are like that. Most are sweet and kind,
like everywhere else, but many very vocal people are hateful. Outspokenly so.
And use their religion to justify it. It impacts my life in a big way because I
work with a lot of these people. So they keep making their way into my stories
(changed so as not to be recognizable, of course), but they seem over the top.
They seem that way in real life too, but I have to work to make them appear
better-rounded on the page than they really are in real life. One thing about
it I guess. The characters will never look too much like the real people that
way. <G>

About the
author:
I've always loved to write and wrote fan fiction before I
even knew what it was called. When computers came along, with online
communities and places to publish fan fiction, I wrote even more. Then a friend
convinced me to try to have an altered version of an AU (alternate universe,
meaning all but original) published. My manuscript was accepted and now I'm a
'published author'.
