Their journey will span the universe and back, but there’s no guarantee they’ll make it together.
Though Nick and Fieo are drawn to each other, their relationship has never been easy. Their differences go beyond their races, but they’ve managed to work together to prevent the spread of corruption, growing closer along the way. Nick still battles the effects of years of loneliness, fear, and pain but surprises everyone when he refuses to stay behind when Fieo is sent on a vital mission to find the Collectors. Fieo objects, but there’s no stopping Nick when he sets his mind to something. Over the course of their mission, it becomes clear Nick is more than anyone ever imagined, but the mystery of his past threatens to derail his future.
The search for the truth will take Fieo and Nick far from Caeorleia, to worlds both familiar and completely alien, and put stress on their already tenuous relationship. It’s a journey that will either tear them apart or finally bring them together.

Excerpt:
Chapter One
“Look at you.” The humid warmth of the garden enveloped and welcomed me. I stroked one finger across the fluffy yellow pod of a waist-high flower. The small strands curled in and then opened back into a wider puff, sending out a glowing powder that drifted high into the night sky. I chuckled. If I didn’t know better, I’d say the small flower was ticklish. I rubbed the pollen off against my shorts, glad I hadn’t tried to smell it. “You haven’t told me about these yet, Jirulm.”
The elderly Caeorleian was mumbling as he plucked clusters of hard orange buds off spindly stalks. I’d picked up the habit of talking to the plants from him, and it wasn’t hard to see why. They were so alive.
I had flowers, and fruit, and vegetables. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d get to live on a planet with wild flora. My schooling and job training had focused on creating new strains of food crops that were grown in chemical vats in the midst of a planet covered in metal and concrete.
Not exactly natural. Or very appetizing, if you knew where they got the basic building blocks for the food. No one had ever questioned it—I hadn’t either, until I’d taken the job with the Federal Food Service Corp after I couldn’t find a job anywhere else. Horrified when I learned the truth, I’d spent a few days unable to choke more than few mouthfuls down at a time, and they rarely stayed down. My mistake had been telling a coworker my plans to reveal everything to the public.
Of course when you’re a prisoner and starving, you tend to ignore the fact your food was grown from cells harvested from composted humans, and you ate it anyway. Beggars couldn’t be choosers.
And I’d begged. A lot. At least five years spent on a spaceship as the experiment of scientists had sucked all hope from me. But then the military scientists’ plans had gone wrong. Ryker and Seral had been sent to the planet in a bid for more information. The doctors assumed the Caeorleians would blame Ryker, one of the hated nelho scum they named the human soldiers waging war on their planet. Instead, something completely unexpected happened. Seral joined in besedad with Ryker, bonding them together.
In a daring attack against the human military, using the nanos they filled Ryker with to spy on the Caeorleians, Seral had brought down the scientists’ enormous ship and spread the reengieeered nanos like a plague to the rest of the fleet. Along they way, they also rescued Dade and me, the only other two survivors of the scientists’ experiments.
And once again, I was wide awake in the middle of the night. The memory of the moments right before rescue came, when I was forced to watch as the human scientists cut the alien woman open, and listen as the sadistic doctors planned to cut my belly open to compare organs, disturbed my sleep almost nightly and left me sweating and shuddering in my bed.
I didn’t mind being awake in the early morning hours all that much. Some of the flowers in my garden only bloomed at night. Besides, I didn’t have much to do, so I could nap during the heat of the day. With a planet this tropical, it made sense for Caeorleians to be seminocturnal. Night was the only time I could count on finding Jirulm, the gardener who taught me about the plants in my garden. Ovrumi suggested I would enjoy gardening when he caught me wandering in the corridors, flinching away from the others passing by.
“It’ll be time to prune those soon, Nicklaus,” Jirulm said. The hum of his voice was low, nearly indistinguishable from the light wind rustling through the plants.
“But they’re just barely blooming.” Sure, flowers indoors brightened up the rather plain walls of the Residence, but all the ones in my suite were potted. I didn’t like to snuff out their already brief lives.
“Good thing, too.” He examined the flowers, pulling at one of the fluffy heads. “When agvarali have absorbed enough energy to glow, the heads detach during the final bloom and migrate along the breeze.”
“Oh, I bet that’s beautiful.” I could just imagine the small glowing fluff balls floating along a soft night wind, though I wasn’t sure if I’d get to see it. Fieo, the stubborn ass, refused to believe I’d be going to find the Collectors with his team, so I had no idea when the departure was planned. I’d assumed sooner rather than later, but maybe I’d still get to see the final bloom—some of the heads were already glowing a faint yellow.
Jirulm snorted. “Beautiful… and dangerous.”
I cocked my head sideways. “What do you mean?” Sometimes getting information out of the old alien was like pulling teeth. But when he did speak, he knew basically everything there was to know about plants on Caeorleia.
“They gather energy, like sampanga trees, but so much in such a small sphere means when they touch something—or something touches them, like a careless finger—they explode.”
I snatched my hand back. “Explode?”
His lips twitched at the corners. It was probably the closest I’d come to seeing a smile on his face. “Oh, not enough to kill you, but you could easily lose a finger in the energy jolt that spreads the seeds. Luckily, these blooms are harmless.”
“That doesn’t sound harmless! Why plant these in a garden if they’re so dangerous?” I couldn’t believe they were actually cultivating the damn things.
“They attract insects to pollinate the other plants.” Jirulm tapped one long stem, and one of the creepy flying bugs crawled out of a waving puffball and flew to another vine a few beds over. “See.”
That was one aspect of gardening I could do without. I did not like bugs. I had nightmares of them crawling inside my ears and laying eggs that would hatch into little buggy babies just dying to burrow into my brain. I backed away from the agvarali. “Well, feel free to prune these while I’m gone.”
Thoughts of going into space again on the mission kept crowding into my mind, disturbing the peace I usually found in my garden. I tried pushing them away and succeeded for a while as Jirulm rambled on. After checking the natural spring fountain in the center of the garden that fed the irrigation lines, he left me alone. There was a small carpet of grass around it, the blades a dull gray in the silver light of the moons. Nighttime lent a certain somber feel to the garden, muting the usually vibrant displays; I sighed as I settled on the grass to stare up at the stars twinkling.
There was a lot of beauty in the darkness.

Wednesday Briefs: Moving Forward #39 (9.2)

Good morning and Happy Hump Day! If it's Wednesday, then it must be time for some flash fiction from the Wednesday Briefers! We're a group of authors who bring you our finest flash fiction, from 500 to 1000 words, inspired by one of our prompts.

This week, as Denver comes to check on Marshall and Lee, they discuss the situation, and speculate on who did it. See what they think in this week's episode of Moving Forward. Then don't forget to visit the other Briefers and see what they're up to! Their links follow my tale! Enjoy!

Moving Forward #39 (9.2)

“Worried about us? Why?” Marshall asked in surprise.

“We’re both fine,” Lee assured him. “We just heard that one of the guests was badly injured by someone. Were you afraid the guy who got hurt might be either one of us?”

“I was worried about that, yeah,” Denver admitted. He patted Marshall’s leg, as if to reassure himself he was really fine. Marshall couldn’t help but notice the concern in his expression.

Lee frowned. “Do you have any idea who might have done this?” The unspoken name hung in the air between them.

Denver sighed loudly. “No, not really. But I don’t know where Dustin got to, and dammit,  knowing his temper… and knowing he’s probably upset with you guys… Hell, after what you told me, Lee, I just don’t know what he’s capable of, you know?”

“I know.” Lee’s voice was somber.

“Sorry if I overreacted, I was just afraid… Did you have a good day?”

“We did a little sightseeing ,” Marshall said, “took a tour on an excursion boat.”

“I think I read about that in the ship brochure. Was it fun?” Denver asked.

“It was lots of fun. I should tell you, though, Dustin was there too.”

“Damn, he wasn’t harassing you, was he?” Denver sounded anxious.

“Never came near us,” Lee assured him. “Didn’t you say he was with someone, Marshall?”

“Yeah, he was. Some guy with reddish hair. Kind of like mine.” Until he said the words, he hadn’t realized the guy kind of resembled him, and he couldn’t help but wonder if that was the attraction for Denver. If so, that was just wrong, as well as disturbing. From Lee’s frown, the thought had just crossed his mind too.

“Could be just a coincidence,” Denver suggested.

“It better be,” Lee said, but he didn’t really sound convinced.

“Have you tried calling him?” Marshall asked.

“Yeah, more than once, but he doesn’t answer.” He ran a hand anxiously through his hair. “Maybe I should head to the infirmary to make sure that’s not him down there.”

“Wouldn’t they have called you if it was?” Lee pointed out. “I assume they know who the guy is, and if it was Dustin, they’d know you share a cabin.”

“Yeah, you’re probably right. He’s probably hanging out with that guy you saw him with, and being the knucklehead he is, he didn’t think to call me. It probably didn’t occur to him that maybe I’d be worried about him.”

“They looked pretty cozy,” Marshall offered. “They’ve probably forgotten all about everyone else.” Granted, that was immature of Dustin, but that wasn’t surprising at all, was it?

“Yeah, you’re probably right,” Denver agreed. “He’s old enough to take care of himself. I warned him when he said he wanted to come along on this cruise that I wasn’t going to be his babysitter or his chaperone, and he was okay with that. I guess he took me at my word.”

“He could still practice common courtesy. You want a drink?” Lee offered. He rose from the bed, moving toward the cart with the bottles.

“Yeah, that sounds good.”

“Marshall?”

Marshall shook his head. He wasn’t really in the mood.

Lee poured bourbon into two glasses, handing one to Denver. Denver bolted it in one quick gulp.

“Thanks, I needed that,” he said, wiping his hand across his mouth. “I think I’m going back to the cabin. You guys got plans for tomorrow?”

“They’ve got this tour of Blackbeard’s Castle,” Marshall said. “We’re going on that, since it’s our last day in port.”

“You’re welcome to join us,” Lee said. “Who knows, maybe Dustin will turn up there too?” His tone was light, but Marshall had the feeling that Lee wasn’t exactly pleased at the prospect of Dustin showing up on another outing. Once might be coincidental, twice not so much. Especially in light of the fact he’d found himself a guy who somewhat resembled Marshall. Sounded like someone might still be obsessed, which was a creepy thought.

“You know, I might just do that. Maybe hang out by the pool after. Have you done that yet?”

“No, and that’s something we’ve been meaning to do,” Lee said. “After walking around the island, that might be a good way to relax before dinner.”

“Sounds good to me,” Marshall said. “Especially if it means seeing you in your new swim suit.” He waggled his eyebrows suggestively at Lee.

“Someone has a one-track mind.” Lee laughed.

“You complaining?”

“Not on your life.” He leaned toward Marshall and they lightly kissed.

Denver rose. “I think that’s my cue to go. No offense fellows, but I’m sure you don’t want an audience anyway.”

Lee got to his feet also. “I’m sure we don’t. Why don’t I text you in the morning and let you know what time we’re going on the tour? We can meet up or something, maybe have breakfast together?”

“I’d like that. ‘Night, guys, see you later.” He exited quickly. Lee picked up the empty glasses and set them on the cart. “Did you want to do any more hot tubbing or anything?”

“Anything sounds good to me,” Marshall purred as he rubbed against Lee suggestively.

Note from the Author:

My new FBI series, INTERNATIONAL RELEASE-JUNE 8th, is the Jake Bernstein FBI series--A BODYGUARD OF LIES, Book One. If you love a genre that's chock full of danger, suspense, crime drama and a heavy dose of sizzling romance, you'll LOVE THIS SERIES! FBI agent Jake Bernstein is my epitome of a hardy, justice-seeking federal officer who combines good looks, a sense of humor and unyielding courage. He knows how to investigate as one of the Bureau's best undercover agents, but he also knows how and when to bend the rules for the sake of true human justice.

The idea for this book, A BODYGUARD OF LIES, struck me when I was tipping a pint with fellow tourists at an Irish pub. There on the wall was an old, WW II photo of Irish dockworkers sharing their pub with German U-boat sailors. That started me wondering about the role that Ireland played during the war, its uneasy relationship with Nazi Germany and the German spies who infiltrated Ireland and England. Lots of research followed, which led me to a contemporary story about an FBI undercover agent who investigates an elderly, naturalized American grandmother, wanted by MI6 for war crimes. Little ol' Mary McCoy Snider, a dangerous WW II Nazi spy who caused the deaths of thousands? Even Agent Jake Bernstein finds that an unbelievable stretch. The granddaughter whom Jake finds himself falling in love with also disbelieves MI6's allegations.

Until his investigation draws him into the middle of a dangerous, secret neo-Nazi group that'll stop at nothing to protect one of their own. And then Jake must choose, the old woman and her lovely granddaughter. Or justice!

EXCERPT:

“Since when are you courting me?” She sat back on the bed, leaning back on her hands, her elbows cocked. Still in her underwear, her breasts thrusting half out of her bra.

“Since the first time I saw you.” He smiled with irony, admitting to himself that he was lost from the first moment he set eyes on her.

You lovesick fool.

Your career’s about to crash and burn.

What Meg did next surprised even him. Suddenly, she reached up. Her hands seized his hips and pulled him closer to the bed. With alacrity, Jake began stripping off his clothes. Off flew his windbreaker and sweatshirt, followed by a more gingerly unstrapping of his shoulder holster. He laid them on the floor, then untied the waistband of his sweat pants.

He stopped, his hands frozen at his waist. A quickie in this dump? What a memory to leave her...

“Jake Bernstein, are you courting me? Yes or no?” she repeated, her voice dripping with sass.

“Doing a half-ass job of it, but yeah,” he said, smiling.

“Well, let me be the judge of that.”

Her eyes sparkling with humor, she pulled down his trousers and briefs, exposing his huge erection. She scooted back on the bed and shimmied out of her panties at the same time. She glanced at her watch. “C’mon, cowboy, we have only ten minutes!”

No time for recriminations, he thought.

Screw this dump. Screw this case. Screw my career.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT:
The Book Details:
Inside you will find specific exercises that offer step-by-step guidelines for drawing a variety of subjects. Each lesson starts with an easy-to-draw shape that will become the basic structure of the drawing. From there, each step adds elements to that structure, allowing the artist to build on their creation and make a more detailed image.
Each art project comes with a chart including information that the artist should be able to KNOW (facts, basic skills), UNDERSTAND (big ideas, concepts, essential questions), and therefore be able to DO (final assessment, performance, measurements of objectives) by the end of the lesson.
This additional information gives these pages more power than just 'art for art's sake' - not that you need it - because art is important enough on its own! Artists are learning about themselves as expressive souls through the process of creating beautiful and interesting work.
The best part is, this is stuff that artists want to draw.
Information for Teachers using this Book:
Teachers can feel confident that they are using instructional time in ways that make a difference for their students when using this guide. Each lesson includes easy-to-follow instruction where the whole process is viewed through a sequence of detailed illustrations that can be linked to historical connections, your curriculum learning standards or adapted into an arts integration lesson. EXCERPT:
The spirit was beautiful, a tall, statuesque woman who had a hard glint in her eyes. Her hair was short, indigo blue through the glow and tightly curled, her skin a lighter shade over wiry muscles. One hand clenched a smallish item made of metal, the other a long tube with some kind of blade on the end. Briony had never seen anyone like her. Though she glanced around and held her body like someone expecting danger, her bearing was proud and strong, and every inch of her spoke of power and competency. A warrior. Briony had heard stories of them, left over from the Great War, but had never seen one herself.
Was that when this woman was from? The War?
“The trio—the monsters—where am I?”
Briony realized she hadn’t responded, and that perhaps this spirit had been looking for someone to talk to for a very long time, and maybe she would assume Briony couldn’t see or hear her either. “Don’t be afraid,” she said.
The spirit's eyebrows rose. "That's a...never mind. What is this place?"
“Well,” Briony started, taking a step forward. But her ankle buckled and she stumbled, managing to catch herself before she fell.
“You’re injured,” said the spirit. “Were you attacked?”
“Yes—you see, there was a Fracture back there, and—” Confusion crossed the spirit’s face. Maybe she was even older; maybe she didn’t know about the War.
Wednesday Briefs: Moving Forward #38 (9.1)
Good morning and Happy Hump Day! If it's Wednesday, it must be time for some flash fiction from the Wednesday Briefers! We're a group of authors who bring you our finest flash fiction every week, from 500 to 1000 words, inspired by one of our prompts.
In Moving Forward, Marshall and Lee have just learned some disturbing news. Is there more to come? Find out in this week's episode! Don't forget to visit the other Briefers and see what they're up to! Their links follow my tale!  Enjoy!
Moving Forward #38 (9.1)
Kenny knocked at the cabin door about ten minutes later, and Roger admitted him. Marshall hadn’t gotten a good look at him before, just from a distance when he and Roger were dancing. He was at least Lee’s age, maybe even a little older. His close-cropped dark hair was liberally sprinkled with gray, as was the neatly trimmed goatee which framed a generous mouth. His eyes were a soft brown, and judging from his tan, here was a man who liked to spend time outdoors too. A nice looking man, Marshall thought, as Roger made the introductions and they made room for the newcomer in the hot tub.
“Kenny’s from New Orleans,” Roger informed them. “He’s a doctor.”
Kenny laughed, a deep rich sound. “Don’t make me sound so fancy,” he said. “I’m a chiropractor.”
“Still a doctor,” Roger insisted. He was sitting as close to Kenny as he could get, Marshall noticed.
They must have really hit it off right away to be so cozy so fast. “I’m glad your plans fell through.”
“Me too,” Kenny said. “I felt bad canceling on the guy, but then he turned around and canceled on me, so I don’t feel that bad anymore.” He laughed again.
“So, did you find out anything about what’s going on?” Roger asked the question Marshall was wondering about too.
“Just that one of the passengers found this guy lying unconscious in one of the corridors, I’m not sure what deck he was on. They said someone did a real number on him. He was bruised pretty good, and he might have some fractures, if not broken bones.”
Lee shook his head. “What a terrible thing. I guess they haven’t been able to ask him who did that to him?”
“No, they’re still waiting for him to wake up. He’s down in the infirmary, I hear, and they have a security guard with him.”
“Are they afraid whoever did it will come back and kill him so he can’t talk?” Marshall was horrified.
“That would be my guess,” Kenny said.
The conversation had certainly taken a somber tone. They looked at one another. Marshall felt helpless, and he suspected the rest of them did too. He reached a hand toward Lee, who took it in his own and held on tightly.
“You know what the really scary thing is?” Roger broke the silence first. “You’d think we’d be safe on a ship full of gay men, you know? But it must have been one of us who did that to the poor guy. If you can’t be safe on a gay cruise, where can you be safe?” He frowned.
That was a good question, Marshall thought.
“I don’t know about you guys but I think I could use a drink,” Roger said.
“Let me,” Kenny insisted. “What sounds good to everyone?”
Kenny and Roger got into a spirited discussion of who’d pay for the drinks, each insisting it was his treat. Finally, Kenny gave in with a laugh and said he’d catch the next round. They decided to start with a couple of bottles of bourbon and see where they’d go from there.
After the bourbon, they did some shots, and Marshall couldn’t help but notice the heated glances that were shooting between Roger and Kenny.  And a whole lot of lingering touches.
Finally, Roger rose and made his way from the hot tub, Kenny hot on his heels. “I think we’re going to call it a night, guys,” Roger said. “Catch you tomorrow some time.” He waved over his shoulder, as they exited the cabin. Marshall could hear a door open and close as they undoubtedly entered Roger’s room across the hall.
“C’mere you,” Lee said, and Marshall didn’t hesitate. He wound his arms about Lee’s neck, their lips pressed together, and for a long moment nothing was said.
When they drew back, Lee asked, “You about ready to get out?”
“Yeah, I think I’m waterlogged enough for one day.” Marshall attempted a laugh, but it sounded a little flat, even to him.
“You all right?” Lee tilted Marshall’s face back to look into his eyes, concern written on his face.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Marshall insisted, “it’s just that… well, hearing about that poor guy. I feel so bad… you know?”
“I know.” Lee’s voice was soft and soothing. He stroked Marshall’s cheek gently. “I feel bad for him too. Hell of a thing. I wish I knew why people do the things they do. You’d think they’d get enough hate without bringing it to a place that should have been fun, and safe.”
“I think that’s what upsets me most too, like Roger said. It’s hard enough being gay, but you don’t expect other gay men to turn on you.”
They clung together for a few more minutes, while Lee rubbed circles on Marshall’s back. Finally, they got out of the hot tub and exchanged their wet swim trunks for dry shorts .
“How about a back rub?” Lee suggested. “I brought some of that oil you like. I can warm it up in the microwave…”
That sounded like a wonderful idea, and just what the doctor ordered.  But before Marshall could tell Lee so, there was a knock at the door.
“I wonder who that could be?” Marshall said.
“I don’t think it’s Roger. I’m sure he’s plenty occupied in his cabin. Hang on, I’ll see who it is and be right back.”
Marshall sat on the edge of the bed, waiting as Lee hurried across the room. He looked through the peephole first, then opened the door. To Marshall’s surprise, Denver tumbled in. He was breathless, and look more than a little upset.
“Lee, you okay? Marshall?” He gave Lee a quick once-over as Lee nodded,  than hurried to Marshall’s side.
“I’m fine, Denver,” Marshall said.
“Thank God. I just heard the news and I was worried about you guys.” Denver collapsed onto the bed beside Marshall with a sigh of relief.
EXCERPT:
The Sheik’s Challenge By E. Lennox
Two things hit her all at once.  First, the man was naked!  Well, he had a towel wrapped around his lean waist, but that was it.  He had another towel in his hand that he used to dry his hair, then rubbed it against his chest.  Ana couldn’t do more than stare, fascinated by that hand as it moved the towel over all of those muscles.  They were everywhere, the skin and muscles flexing as he dried himself off.  Was his hand moving more slowly?  Was he…
Her eyes flipped up to his and she blushed when she realized that he was watching her, watching him.  “I’m sorry,” she whispered and licked her dry lips.
“I enjoyed it,” he murmured.  “Feel free to take over.”
Ana felt her breath catch in her throat and her eyes moved down over his body again, her mind spinning out of control at the idea of drying off that man’s chest and arms.  And…everything else.
Prince’s Challenge By E. Lennox
When she realized what time it was, she looked down, embarrassed to have monopolized the evening so completely.  “I’m sorry.  You’re probably sick of hearing about the escapades of my students.”
“Not at all.  It is refreshing to hear about someone who loves her job.”
She smiled but looked away, unable to hold the intensity of his gaze.  “I’m sure you have other priorities on your time.”
He glanced at his watch.  “I don’t, but you need sleep.  I’ll come get you in the morning for breakfast if that is convenient?”
She shook her head.  “No need,” she told him, standing up and feeling relieved that her muscles held her upright once again.  They would start to wobble soon, but for the moment, she was steady.  She cinched in the tie to the robe, painfully conscious that she had nothing on underneath.  His eyes told her that he was conscious of that fact as well and her whole body heated.
Thankfully, he didn’t mention her lack of clothing, proceeding on as if she were completely dressed.  “There’s every need,” he said and came around the table.  Taking her hand, he kissed her knuckles gently.  “Until tomorrow morning,” he said.  A moment later, he’d disappeared and she was standing there by the table looking at the now-empty doorway.
Sonya had no idea what was going on, why she was here or why he was spending so much time with her.  She suspected he carried a great deal of responsibility on those broad shoulders.  So why was he spending time with her?  Listening to her drone on about her students and helping her to bathe?
She walked over to the large bed, still blushing at the memory of his heated eyes looking at her as she stood in the shower area.  She slipped beneath the sheets and, because he was no longer around and she felt “safe”, her mind wondered about how it might feel to have him touch her with more than just his eyes.
Leslie North is the pen name for a critically-acclaimed author of women's contemporary romance and fiction. The anonymity gives her the perfect opportunity to paint with her full artistic palette, especially in the romance and erotic fantasy genres.
The truth of the matter is she loves her fictional persona, Leslie North, more than her normal, day-to-day persona! Her bestselling books focus on strong characters and particularly women who aren't afraid to challenge an alpha male. Inspired after years of travel, her stories are set all over the world, from the tough streets of Russia to the beautiful beaches of the middle east.
Leslie fell in love with romance when she first picked up a scrappy, dog-eared romance book from her local library. She began writing soon after and the rest, as they say, was history. She now lives in a cozy cottage on the British coast and enjoys taking long walks with her two Dalmatians, George and Fergie.
She LOVES reader feedback, and if you have any comments, don't hesitate to contact her via e-mail: leslie@leslienorthbooks.com.
Elizabeth Lennox
USA Today (c) bestselling author Elizabeth Lennox writes contemporary romance novels featuring sheiks, business tycoons, royalty, and other sexy rich men. Her male lead characters are smart, driven and determined, but can still be sensitive and vulnerable. Elizabeth's female lead characters come from a variety of backgrounds. They are strong, intelligent and independent, while still feminine and caring.
Although Elizabeth wanted to be a romance novelist since the eighth grade, that dream only became a (paid) reality for her in 2009 and a full time job in 2012. Along the way, she received a BS in History and held different jobs in the real estate, government consulting, and financial industries. All during that time, though, she was always writing, using her personal experiences, dreams, and travels throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean as backdrops for her stories. To date, she has written over 80 books and sold over 1.7 million copies. Her free novellas have been downloaded over 2.9 million times since 2013.
Elizabeth lives in Virginia with her husband and two children. Their home is just outside of Washington, D.C., and many of her novels are set in this area.
